Scope and contact

This policy covers the independent ATMOSFAR Field Guide at atmosfar.org. For privacy questions or requests about information you have supplied, contact contact@atmosfar.org. It does not cover the game, Steam or other external sites linked from our articles.

Hosting and ordinary visits

The website is prepared for hosting on Cloudflare Pages. Serving a page involves technical data such as an IP address, request information, browser details and connection timestamps. The hosting provider may process that data for delivery, security and abuse prevention under its own policies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We do not operate visitor accounts, a public comment system, a newsletter sign-up or a contact form in this edition. Fonts and website illustrations are served with the website rather than requested from a third-party font service.

Optional Google Analytics

When configured, we use Google Analytics 4 for optional audience measurement. It is not loaded unless you allow analytics, and it runs only at https://atmosfar.org. Local development, HTTP visits, other subdomains and Cloudflare preview addresses do not run this measurement, even if you save an allowed choice there. If no measurement ID is configured, no Google Analytics script is loaded at all.

With consent, Google may process page URLs, usage events, browser/device information and related technical data. Analytics cookies may include _ga and property-specific _ga_* cookies. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in this implementation. Data retention is controlled by the site’s Analytics property settings and Google’s processing policies; this policy does not claim an unconfigured retention period.

Your choice on this device

Choose Essential only to decline optional measurement, or Allow analytics to permit it. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change that choice. The website stores your choice in local storage under atmosfar-consent-v1, together with its version and the time it was made.

The choice window appears on a first visit with no valid saved choice, including local previews. Closing it or not making a choice leaves audience measurement off. Saved choices expire after 180 days. Choices made on a preview address do not transfer to the public domain.

Withdrawing consent stops the site’s analytics loading, disables measurement for the configured property and attempts to remove its first-party Analytics cookies. This does not retroactively remove data already received by Google. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser. Choices are device- and browser-specific; blocking local storage may prevent a choice from persisting between visits.

YouTube videos

Video articles offer optional YouTube players. No YouTube iframe, thumbnail request or video connection is made automatically when you open a page. Choosing Load video connects to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player at youtube-nocookie.com. Google/YouTube then receives technical information such as your IP address, browser details and the referring website, and may process viewing interactions under its policies. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no data is processed or that all storage is impossible.

You can read the article without loading a player. A Watch on YouTube link opens YouTube directly and follows its policies. Loading a video is separate from allowing this site’s analytics and does not change your analytics choice. See YouTube’s privacy guidance and Google’s privacy policy.

Email enquiries

If you email us, your address, message and attachments are processed to answer the enquiry or review a correction or rights request. Email is handled through the relevant email providers, not through a form on this website. Keep sensitive information out of your message.

You can request access to or deletion of information you have supplied, subject to applicable requirements and any legitimate need to retain records. The extent of your rights depends on your jurisdiction. We do not sell personal information supplied through publication enquiries.

Advertising and future changes

This edition has no AdSense code or display advertising. If advertising is added, this policy and the consent interface must be updated before those services run, including any required certified consent platform for applicable regions. An analytics choice here is not permission for personalized advertising.

This policy should be reviewed whenever data collection changes. Its checked date appears above. External links follow the policies of their destination websites; search on this website runs against a local article index and does not send your query to an external search provider.
