How many players can play together?
ATMOSFAR supports online co-op for up to four players in total, or single-player play. That means you and up to three friends, not four friends in addition to the host. The developer’s FAQ and store description support this distinction.
The idea is a shared survival expedition through the floating islands of Tycos. Aircraft travel, gathering supplies and a mobile Cloud Cruiser give a group several things to coordinate, though the exact session setup should be checked in the release build.

Can I play alone?
Yes. Single-player is listed as a supported way to play. The four-player limit is not a requirement to bring a full crew.
We have not tested whether difficulty, resource demands or individual tasks scale with the number of players. Do not treat a group-play trailer as proof that every action requires multiple people, or assume that solo progression works exactly like a hosted session.
Cross-play: two different questions
“Cross-play” can mean players using different PC stores, or players using different devices. These need separate answers.
The publisher lists Steam and Epic Games Store, but that alone does not confirm that those versions can join each other. PC-to-console cross-play is also not established: there is no verified PS5 or Xbox announcement in the checked material. See the platform overview before buying on behalf of a group.
Hosting and saves
We have not verified an official dedicated-server tool, supported hosting commands, host migration or the rules for shared saves. A commercial hosting page mentioning the game is not the same as developer support for a working server release.
Before committing to a long-running world, check who owns the save, whether the host must be online, what happens when a player leaves and whether a joining player keeps their character progress. Those are practical questions to confirm in the current game documentation; they are not answered by a four-player feature label.
Planning a crew before launch
Agree on a storefront only after checking cross-store joining. Compare the PC requirements with everyone’s machine, and make sure everyone is discussing the same build rather than the archived demo.
As a planning idea, a crew can divide attention between piloting, supplies and construction. These are suggestions for coordinating a shared expedition, not fixed character classes or tested optimal roles. Keep spare time for learning the interface and deciding how to share the Cloud Cruiser.
