Where is the PACE lever?
In the March 2026 Demo, the missing PACE lever is in an elevated bird nest on the highway-gate island. Search the island with the gate objective rather than moving on to a separate mining stop.
This solution is for the Demo. Early Access is announced for October 29, and the quest or island layout may change.
Check the gate’s repair requirement first
Inspect the highway-gate controls and read the missing-item prompt. The Demo repair requires the PACE lever and two wire.
Make sure you have the other materials as well as the quest item. Finding the lever alone does not finish the repair. If your current prompt lists a different requirement, use that requirement instead of the old Demo quantity.
Find the elevated nest
- Stay on, or return to, the island with the highway gate.
- Look above the obvious ground-level route for the elevated nest.
- Choose a safe landing or approach nearby.
- Inspect the nest and retrieve the lever.
- Return to the controls with the remaining repair materials.
Use the nest as a visual reference rather than searching unrelated scrap piles. A quest item and a crafting component call for different kinds of search.

Repair, then activate the gate
At the controls, complete the repair using the lever and required wire. Then use the gate’s activation interaction. Repairing the mechanism and toggling it are separate actions.
Check that the objective has advanced before leaving. Keep the Wasp ready for the next movement, with fuel transferred and the portable camp carried. The flight checklist covers those departure checks.
If you cannot find the lever
Start with the journal: confirm you are searching the gate island, not another location reached after the task appeared. Then check your inventory in case you already collected it.
If the nest, objective or required item differs, compare your build with this Demo route. The Demo availability page explains the historical version; changed quests should follow their current prompt.
If a current build has a different route, send the build number, objective text and a screenshot through the correction page.
